In order to guarantee superior customer satisfaction, our rigorous product research and state-of-the art test lab ensure that you will get air-handling solutions with the highest efficiency possible. All Mechanovent products have to meet uncompromising testing standards, including extensive air performance, sound, and quality assurance testing prior to release to the market.
Our state-of-the-art Research Center in LaPorte, Indiana, is equipped for:
Air performance testing
Six third-party accredited air performance test chambers are used for all tests in accordance with AMCA/ASHRAE Standard 210. Two figure 15 chambers and four figure 12 chambers with flows to 130,000 cfm and pressures to 100" WG.
Vibration and structural integrity research
Several high-inertia mounting bases are used to conduct vibration and modal analysis tests that allow optimization of the product designs for minimum vibration without excess weight and cost.
In compliance with AMCA Standard 300, all products are sound tested in the special all-concrete-and-steel reverberant room. Sound tests are done in full-octave and one-third octave bands.
Finite Element Analysis (FEA) modeling
FEA is used extensively for the design and development of our reliable, cost-effective products. Critical elements are modeled with FEA to determine high stress areas, which are then verified through dynamic strain gauge analysis in the laboratory.
For the purposes of new product development and improvement of existing designs we also utilize the Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software - a revolutionary design tool that allows investigation of multiple design scenarios without building prototypes for every test. By applying the latest engineering methods and cutting-edge software we constantly optimize the design and efficiency of our products.
